​American trumpet player and vocalist Pete Tanton is joined by Mark Williams on guitar, Andy Champion on bass, and Russ Morgan on drums.

​Their original compositions draw from a palette inspired by Joao Gilberto, Sergio Mendes, Lalo Schiffrin, Neil Hefti, Jim Hall, Kenny Burrell, Charles Mingus and Chet Baker. What a party!

PETE TANTON studied music under Jerry Coker at the University of Tennessee before moving to London. He has played alongside and supported Donald Brown, John Faddis, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Shew, Bruce Adams, Digby Fairweather, Joe Stilgoe, Paul Booth, Polly Gibbons. He is a member of The Strictly Smokin’ Big Band and The Revolutionaires’ horn section.

MARK WILLIAMS is a guitarist/composer from Belfast who came to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1999 to complete a BMus (hons) in Jazz, Popular and Commercial music. Since then he has worked with some of the top jazz musicians in the country. He is currently involved in various original musical projects including his own band The Mark Williams Trio.

​RUSS MORGAN has been a professional Jazz drummer for nearly 30 years. He trained at the Royal Academy of music in London. He has played with Julian Arguelles, Gillad Atzmon, Greg Abate, Alan Barnes, Peter King, Tony Kofi, Mark Lockheart, Dave O’Higgins, Spike Robinson, Julian Siegel, Alan Skidmore, Martin Speake, Stan Sultzman, Art Themen, Bobby Wellins and Tim Whithead (sax) Gordon Beck, Gary Husband, Jason Rebello, Ivo Neame and Greg Spero (piano) John Etheridge, Jim Mullen, John Parricelli, Nigel Price, Phil Robson and Mike Outram (guitar) Roger Beaujolais, Jim Hart, Bill Le Sage, and Lewis Wright (vibes) Bruce Adams and Steve Waterman (trumpet) Alec Dankworth, Mick Hutton and Steve Watts (bass) Christian Garrick (violin) and Jacqui Dankworth, Stacey Kent, Georgia Mancio and Christine Tobin (vocals).
 
Current projects include the Mark Williams Trio, the Paul Edis Trio, Zoe Gilby's 'Aurora', the Lindsay Hannon Plus and the Russ Morgan Quartet.

​​ANDY CHAMPION has built up a national reputation for his virtuosity and creativity on the double bass and since 2003 has been a prominent figure on the NE jazz and improvised music scene, recording and performing with top names such as Bob Mintzer, Tim Garland, Jason Yarde and Andy Sheppard. As an improviser he has also played alongside major international figures including Marc Ducret, Marilyn Crispell, Matt Maneri and Eugene Chadbourne. Andy has toured extensively in the UK & internationally with Zoe Gilby and his own band, ACV.
